International networks

We actively cooperate with our foreign counterparts, carry out joint projects and keenly cooperate for development of municipalities.

The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia is a founder and a member of Local Democracy Agency – Georgia. NALAG also actively participates in the European Forum of national associations of local authorities of Council of Europe. Under the aegis of Council of Europe NALAG holds European Local Democracy Week on an annual basis in Georgia.

NALAG intensively cooperates with the network of Associations of Local Authorities in South Eastern Europe (NALAS) and is involved in the Forum to promote local democracy in the Balkan Region.

From 2010 NALAG is the member of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions. The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) is the oldest and broadest European association of local and regional government. It is the only organisation that brings together the national associations of local and regional authorities from 41 European countries and represents. CEMR is also the European section of the world organisation United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), through which we represent European local and regional government on the international stage.
